zooTools make character rigging a breeeze!

Hamish McKenzie (macaroniKazoo) has put out a new release of his tools, now written in Python as well as good ‘ol Mel–YAY!  This is big news since it’s been a whole year since another version has been publicly released!  It’s good to know that someone out there is still enthusiastic about sharing with the online community what he’s learned and developed over a long period of time.  I hope to bring something as useful to the proverbial table one day.  Guess I better keep hitting the books and learn from great the great ones!  I feel like such a noob in comparison and it’ll take years to catch up with these guys.

So, if you don’t know who i’m talking about or are just climbing out from under that rock or are just beginning with Mel, Python, Pymel or other scripting language–or just rigging for that matter–then you should get to know this guy for sure and download his tools!  I depend on some of the tools for increased productivity in rigging and to just root around in trying to figure out how Hamish codes things.  Not just I, but many people in the tech art world including people that have been looking to him for waaaay longer than I have.  Those same people have said they looked up to the extensive zooTools for a long time, as well as other code poets like the famous Michael Comet.

Looking at other peoples code has brought me a long way in a short amount of time as far as authoring my own scripts to be more concise, clean, and >:| mean.  There are a thousand different ways to code something but there are a thousand commands and ways of coding things that can shave off precious lines of code ( which can really add up! ) and cpu cycles when getting into more elaborate computational programming.

Get the awesome new edition of zooToolbox while supplies last!  He is on Twitter and his scripts are on google groups as well.
